Where aluminium scrap comes from

Getting the best price

1. Separate wrought (sections, sheet, wire) from cast.
2. Run a magnet over every heap to pull out screws, rivets and brackets.
3. Remove glass, rubber gaskets and plastic.
4. Keep painted sections apart from bare and anodised ones.
5. Store under cover and weigh in front of both parties.

On a 1-tonne window lot, cleaning and separating typically moves the material from the mixed rate to the section rate – often worth tens of thousands of rupees.

For buyers

Smelters and die-casters can post requirements by alloy family, form and monthly volume. Extrusion billet makers can specify 6063 with coating limits. Imported Taint/Tabor, Tense and Zorba can be sourced through the Kabadi24 trade desk.
